No shit. There a hardware based company. There not like Microsoft and there not just going to release Mac OS X to other PC makers like Dell and HP. If they did that a whole bunch of problems would happen from compatibility issues and the fact no one would buy a “Mac” because MOST people are Cheap. Not all, just most.

I think Apple is slowly coming around to service Developers better. One little point I adore is that Visual Studio (to write purely native Windows applications) is a separate application that costs big bucks – whereas Apple’s XCode development tools comes free with each copy of OSX. PS – Some nerds will assert the name is really pronounced “OS ten”.

NO support for developers is the main reason people don’t want to make stuff for apple. When it does not work they tell you that ms sucks.second thing apple brings up is boot camp. third thing they do is sell you windows and office. Buy an over priced apple and buy few hundred dollars of ms software.
People install Windows on the Mac to overcome the shortcomings of the DEVELOPERS, not the Mac. How is it Apple’s fault if someone doesn’t make a Mac version of their software? It’s up there with the argument that “Macs suck because MSN on it is crap”… MSN is made by Microsoft, go bitch them about it. Office on the Mac sucks too, again, Microsoft’s fault.
They did NOT steal the GUI from Xerox, they got permission to use it because their executives didn’t see the potential in it like Apple did. SLi is mostly for gaming, and remember, all you Windows people like to say “Macs suck for games” so why does it need it? It doesn’t anyway because it gets better performance due to the more efficient OS so it doesn’t need as much overhead. Running Windows on a Mac is good because there’s more software for Windows due to its market share, one comp, 2 systems
They already have Blu-Ray support, the just don’t ship any of their systems with it because of the stupid licencing. Go and look up all the hoops they have to jump through to use it. Also optical media is on the way out. Downloads are the next big thing. People laughed at Apple for getting rid of floppy drives before the competition, who uses them now? USB 3.0 IS NOT out yet, so of course it’s not there or supported. Wireless USB is a hardware thing so yes, it can use it.
i am still waiting for an eta on when mac will steal support for blue ray, sli, wireless usb, usb 3.0 on its notebook. Will it be 2010 or 2015? Can someone else make it without breaking apple eula. You also need to read up on how mac stole gui from xerox. Did you watch steve all excited when bootcamp came out. Even an apple becomes user friendly once you add windows to it. Over 50 percent of mac users buy windows to overcome shortcomings in osx.

MAC PRO NOTEBOOKS ARE STILL SLOWER THAN SOME XPS M1730 SOLD IN 2007!!. ITS 2009 AND APPLE HAS NO BLUERAY, SLI, RAID 0, WIRELESS USB, ETC ON ITS NOTEBOOK. DO YOU HAVE AN ETA WHEN APPLE WILL ADD 2007 FEATURES. WILL IT BE 2010 OR 2015?
I’m very sorry to asy this, but you’re rather ignorant. No Macs currently have i7 because they’ve only just hit the market and nothing has been revised since this. You really do need to check the Apple site and custom config a MacPro. They have 15k hard drives as an option and have for years. The motherboard they use supports 32GB of RAM. Few boards support more, even server boards, which is what a MacPro really is, server hardware. BluRay can be added if you like. If you need it you have it.
Again you need to do some research. Hd have been a limiting factor for years. Even soild state drives are slow. Windows has support(platform) for all these third party hardware and apps. Thats what an os is suppose to do. Windows has already started supporting Icore7, 3 channel ddr3,etc. New Mac notebooks are still slower than 2007 dell m1730. Thats just sad!!. Macpro only has raid o+1. NO other raid, no 15k and 10k drives, NO 64gb ram support, NO blueray, NO 10 hd drives, etc. Its just sad!!
Microsoft created APPS for the first Mac OS, they didn’t actually make the Mac OS. It’s more true to say Windows wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the Mac OS, because Microsoft actually copied the GUI and mouse concept from Apple as they had access to the OS on prototype machines of the Macintosh. They sat someone next to it and retyped code that does the same thing the Mac OS did so it avoided the copyright infringements.
Windows doesn’t support DVD play back without 3rd party plug ins, same with Blu-Ray. Wehn you get a Blu-Ray drive you get drivers to let you use it, it’s the same on Macs, if you get the drive then you get drivers that let you use it. It’s down to the vendors who make the systems what they put in, it has NOTHING to do with Microsoft. If you want raid on a Mac, get a MacPro. Most Macs are consumer machines and as such get little to no advantage having RAID. Touchscreen is a gimmick on the desktop
You need to do some research. Windows supported blueray/HD dvd in 2005. Dell xps m1730 came out in 2007 with dual 8800gt sli, raid 0 and blueray burner. Apple is expected to have these features in 2010. Apple is 5 years behind windows in supporting HD. Difference is even greater if you compare gaming, cooperate apps, data crunching, servers, etc. You also need to check out HP touchscreen desktop because new imac will copy.
